Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how JoieThings (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit joiethings.com (the “Site”), make a purchase, or contact us. We keep data collection to what we need to run the store. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not currently run advertising pixels, analytics trackers, session recording, or chat widgets on the Site.
Information we collect
Order information. When you place an order we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, the items you ordered, and any note you add to the order. Payment card details are entered directly into a secure form provided by our payment processor, Stripe, and are never stored on our servers.
Account information. If you create an account we store your name, email address, saved addresses, and order history.
Newsletter information. If you subscribe to our newsletter we store your email address, the date you subscribed, and your subscription status.
Correspondence. When you email or call us we keep the messages and the details you share so we can help you.
Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records server logs that include your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time of each request. We use these only for security, fraud prevention, and keeping the Site running.
Cookies
The Site uses only strictly necessary cookies set by WordPress and WooCommerce. These remember the items in your cart, keep you signed in to your account, and protect the checkout from fraud. They are not used to track you across other websites. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. If we add any in the future we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
How we use your information
- To process, ship, and provide customer support for your orders, including sending order and shipping confirmations.
- To screen orders for fraud and protect the Site.
- To respond to your questions and accessibility or accommodation requests.
- To send our newsletter, only if you have subscribed. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To comply with legal obligations such as tax and accounting rules.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to run the store on our behalf and who are contractually limited to using it for that purpose:
- Stripe processes payments. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Hostinger hosts the Site and our email marketing tool, Hostinger Reach, which sends our newsletter.
- USPS and other carriers receive your name and shipping address to deliver your order.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to a subpoena or other lawful request, or to protect our rights and the safety of our customers. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Data retention
We keep order records for as long as needed for tax, accounting, warranty, and fraud-prevention purposes, typically seven years. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete your account.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and provide a copy.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your personal information, subject to records we must keep by law.
- Stop sending you marketing email. You can also use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter.
To make a request, email joiethings@gmail.com or call (331) 308-0303. We will verify the request using the email address on your order or account and respond within 45 days. We will never discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
California residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the rights to know, delete, and correct described above, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than fulfilling your order. We honor Global Privacy Control signals by continuing to not sell or share your information. The categories of information we collect and the purposes are listed above, and we have collected only those categories in the preceding 12 months.
Visitors from the EU, UK, and other regions
We are based in the United States and process your information here. If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process your data to fulfill our contract with you (your order), to comply with law, and for our legitimate interest in running and securing the Site. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Do Not Track
Because we do not track visitors across websites, there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to change. We treat every visitor as if the signal were on.
Children
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, payment details go directly to Stripe, and access to order data is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or to the law. We will post the new version here with a new “last updated” date. Material changes that affect how we use your data will be announced on the Site before they take effect.
